What is PAD?
PAD is the acronym we use to refer to our Pre-Authorized Debit program. The PAD program allows members to insure that their church is supported financially even if they are not present on Sunday morning to give their offering. Their gift to the church is automatically transferred from their bank account to ours.
How does PAD-giving benefit the congregation?
There are several benefits to the congregation of having member’s join the PAD program.
- It’s environmentally friendly as we reduce the number of boxes of paper envelopes that are ordered.
- It reduces the workload of volunteers assigned to count the Sunday morning offering. There are fewer envelopes to open and record.
- It provides a consistent and regular stream of income which is reassuring to those managing the congregation’s finances. Salaries, utility bills and the support we provide to the MNO Synod are just a few examples of expenses that are paid out on a monthly basis. PAD giving helps us meet these responsibilities in a timely manner.
How can I get enrolled in the PAD program?
Enrolling is as easy as filling out a PAD Request Form. There are several options to choose from as to what time of the month you want the transfer of funds to take place. You may also choose between giving once per month or twice per month. Please also read the Terms and Conditions of the Pad Program.
What if I want to change the amount I am giving through PAD?
The amount and frequency of giving through PAD may be changed at any time by completing a PAD Change Form.
Can I still give special offerings during the year using an envelope?
Absolutely. Just use one of the generic envelopes found in the card racks on the back of the any pew. Remember to add your name and envelope number so that credit will be given when year-end charitable donation tax receipts are issued.
Where should I submit a completed PAD form?
Submit completed forms to the church office either in person or by mail. Don’t forget include a void cheque from the account from which you wish the transfers to take place.
Forms submitted prior to the 15th of the month will be effective the following month. Forms received after the 15th of the month may take an additional month before the PAD plan becomes effective.
